Part One

I watched as she walked away. She wouldn’t turn around this time. She didn’t want me to see her cry. I knew I couldn’t make this wrong right again. I couldn’t believe I was so stupid. I stood there helpless, tears holding back in my eyes. I was a man and I was weak. She left with one of my best friends and teammates and I stood there with a dumb Russian blonde that ruined everything. I needed to get away and think. I heard her call to our friends Max Talbot and Matt Cooke but I couldn’t hear over the music. Right then another teammate Kris Letang ended up throwing up all over the bar. I couldn’t watch this anymore. I watched as Talbot and Cooke carried Tanger out of the bar with her following.
“I’m going back to the hotel.” I said in Russian to my former girlfriend and nemesis Oksana.“Why?” She asked, looking into my eyes in a way she knew I could not resist drunk.“I need to think. I will get you a different room at the hotel.” I replied grabbing my jacket and walking out. My former teammate Ryan Malone looked at me with hate when I walked past. My cell phone vibrated right then. I looked down to see it was another teammate of mine named Jordan Staal.
You really fucked up this time Geno. Great way to ruin a perfect road trip.
I looked in his direction as he took another shot. The guys were living up this winning streak. She left with Kris Letang, one of my best friends here in the states. He seemed pretty drunk, throwing up and falling down all over the place.

Heather’s POV
I decided to surprise the team by coming to Tampa Bay to watch them play. I was really excited to see my boyfriend Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The team had become my friends over the past few months we had been together. It had only been a few days but I missed him so much. I was going crazy. The only person who knew I was even in town yet was Sid Crosby. He had become a really great friend of mine over time. I smiled in his direction as I walked into the bar. He didn’t look to happy to see me there. It looked like he was in agony. Then I saw what he was looking at and I couldn’t believe it. There was my boyfriend with his ex straddling him on a couch in this bar in the middle of nowhere. He had no idea anyone else but Oksana was in the room. I went up to the bar and downed a few shots before I went over to confront him. “What the FUCK are you DOING?!” I screamed over the music. I didn’t care who was watching.
“Heather?! What are you doing here?” Geno asked in his adorable broken English.
“I came here to see MY boyfriend only to find him with this…..skank! That’s what I am doing!” I replied back. This wasn’t the first time I had caught them together. I let it go all the other times, but this was it.
All Oksana did was smile up at me like she had won. Even though he was drunk, there was no excuse this time. I turned around to leave. I didn’t dare let him see the tears about to fall from my eyes. Before I could get to the door though I heard Talbot call my name. I turned in his direction to find Kris Letang with his head on the bar not looking too hot. I walked over to see what was wrong.
“Hey hon, come here.” Talbot said, seeing the hurt in my eyes.
“What?” I asked, trying my damnedest not to let the tears burning my eyes fall.
“It will be okay! You are surrounded by sexy, hot, horny, and drunk hockey players that adore you!” He slurred in his drunkeness.
“Oh really Maxie?!” I replied now trying not to crack a smile. I looked down at Tanger and then back to Talbot. “Oh, he’s too drunk or something. Said his head hurt. I gotta piss…..I’ll be right back.” He stumbled over to the bathroom and I lost it laughing then.
“Tanger….Kris….you okay?” I asked, sitting down next to him.
“Mhmm….head…..not….” He couldn’t even put a sentence together.
When he put his head up, he looked like he could blow chunks any minute.I spotted Talbot coming out of the bathroom and Cooke close by so I yelled for them to come over.“Can you help Tanger to my rental? I am gonna take him back to the hotel now.” I asked. I then caught him from the corner of my eye looking at me and knew I had to leave then.“Sure…..oh God Tanger! This is a $5000 suit man!” I heard Cooke say as he went to help Tanger stand up. I knew that smell anywhere. Tanger just barfed on Cooke and Talbot.
